October 13, 2020 Day 5
What does it look like when we partner with Jesus to advance His kingdom?
For me, this means to allow Jesus to have full control of where my boundaries fall. I have caught myself numerous times telling Jesus “I will do it if…” This is the kind of boundary I am talking about. By telling Jesus what I will and will not do draws a boundary line that separates me from partnering with Him. I have learned to surrender the line in the sand and trust that wherever He decides to stretch out the curtains of my dwelling place, I will follow where He leads. I know there is no place I will go without Him right beside me. He knows what He is doing and does not need my help. But how good is He to desire to have a partnership in advancing His kingdom? What a beautiful thing. David tells us in Psalm 16:6 that “The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places…” and I know that in those boundaries, He will fulfill every need. He will send fear and insecurities out of the dwelling place. Later in the same chapter, David says “You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence…” He will not lead you out of the boundary lines He sets before you. My encouragement to you today would be to hand the stick over that you have been using to draw lines in the sand. Surrender everything that is making your dwelling place a small space. In order to partner with Him to advance the Kingdom, you have to allow your boundary lines to expand. He has your best interest in mind and He is ready to do life with you. When you are bound in a secluded area not much territory is claimed.
Take His hand, and let’s expand our territory together.
Until next time…
(Also take a listen to this masterpiece. This song is called “Pleasant Places” written by one of my favorite people. I have been singing this song since I was a little girl and it means even more to me now than it did back then.)
I so love reading these blogs. God is already using you in such mighty ways and I am so ready to see Him move even more!
Also that last line rings true for many of those old tunes now especially as we get older and wiser. ??
